Amy Hines

Senior Vice President

“Leadership in the not-for-profit sector takes many forms and as a consultant, I am inspired to uncover and leverage the leadership talents and capacities of clients. I find joy in strengthening the partnership between volunteer leadership and staff to advance a good cause.”

Amy has worked in the not-for profit sector for more than 30 years. Clients seek her because of her extensive track record in fundraising, organizational development, governance and strategic planning for community-based, regional, national and international organizations.

Prior to joining the firm, Amy was President of Payne, Forrester & Associates, based in Connecticut and New York, which was acquired by The Alford Group. Leading up to her career in nonprofit consulting, she served as Vice President for Development and External Relations at the Central Park Conservancy in New York City. She moved on from there to live and work in Ireland for two years to help Barretstown Camp, founded by Paul Newman for seriously ill children, raise $15 million for start-up facility development and operations. Since then, she has consulted to a range of not-for-profit organizations in multiple sectors including human services, environment, education, arts and culture, and public radio and television.

She is a life Trustee of Hampshire College in Massachusetts and a former Trustee of Hartford Seminary, which promotes interfaith dialogue. She also is a founding director and former board chair of The Discovery Center, founded by Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward to shape positive attitudes about race and difference.

Outside of her career and volunteer service, Amy enjoys dogs, fly-fishing, hiking, gardening, and spending time with her husband, family and friends.
