Holly MilburnClient Service Associate
“We do not think ourselves into new ways of living, we live ourselves into new ways of thinking.”
Holly joined The Alford Group in January 2017, bringing with her nearly ten years of nonprofit experience. When working with clients, Holly implements skills developed through her work in project management, communications strategy, fundraising, partnership-building, and event planning.
Prior to joining The Alford Group, Holly worked with the Episcopal Church in New York City where she directed outreach programing, built partnerships, expanded communications, and led fundraising campaigns. Her work with the church took her to Cape Town, South Africa for a year. During her time with the church, she built and led thriving leadership teams serving emergency feeding programs, a men’s homeless shelter, an educational partnership in Haiti, a city-wide grants allocation program, and an innovative prison ministry.
Holly’s greatest professional joys have come from working with not-for-profit organizations serving children and youth; from organizing summer camps for newly resettled refugee children in Kentucky; and from coaching girls’ basketball in the Bronx. Prior to her recent move to Chicago, Holly served on the New York State Initiative for Children of Incarcerated Parents, the New York State Anti-Trafficking Coalition, the Emergency Shelter Network, the Neighborhood Task Force Against Homelessness and Hunger, and the New York Intern Program Advisory Board.
When she’s not working, Holly enjoys traveling, reading, cheering on her Kentucky wildcats, and spending time with her family, including her fiancé, Stephen and their cat, Waffles.
