New Megadonor Archetypes – A study of the donors from the Giving Pledge
Jamie Phillippe, CFRE, Vice President, The Alford Group
Sharon Tiknis, Executive Vice President, The Alford Group
High net worth individuals are growing in number and are increasingly in the public eye. Some are inclined to give, and their support can make a transformational difference. But how do they approach these decisions? And what might all donors see in the examples set by these high-profile, high-impact donors? New research by Lipman Hearne analyzes the first-person statements of 150+ billionaire households taking part in the Giving Pledge since 2010. We’ll share the key take-aways, including profiles of five new Megadonor Archetypes, and discuss the implications of this research and what it means for growing philanthropy.
The Alford Group was the AFP ICON diversity sponsor and is celebrating 20 years hosting the Diversity Art Showcase and Diversity Workshop. Thanks for joining us at AFP ICON 2019 to view the winning artwork, attend our diversity workshop, and cast your vote at booth #542!
Question of the Day! Booth #542
Each day of the conference we had a new question for you to weigh in on. Restricted or Unrestricted? Stories or stats? Direct Mail or E-Mail? We tallied the votes, compiled all of your reasons behind your vote, and are sharing it with everyone for inspiration.
Every year The Alford Group sponsors a youth art contest at a school or nonprofit organization local to the conference location. This year, we partnered with the local San Antonio nonprofit Say Si. The finalists and winners are invited to the conference where they accept their awards on-stage during a plenary session. This year’s winners are:
First Place: Amar Paz, Fountain of Youth
Second Place: Maya Diaz, Color of SA
Third Place: Joshua Cortez, Driftwood
Each year, The Alford Group sponsors a diversity workshop for AFP ICON attendees to learn more about diversity in fundraising. This year’s session was as follows:
